Return of 511 Families of Displaced Persons from Sari Kani Within the Third Convoy

511 Sari Kani/Ras al-Ain families began returning home via a new convoy from Hasakah camps and shelters, the third batch in organized operations aimed at ending displacement.

AL-HASAKAH– The agreement signed between the Syrian interim government and the Syrian Democratic Forces formed a turning point to end the displacement crisis, as it allowed thousands of families to return in an organized manner to their homes, and laid a fundamental pillar for enhancing stability and sustainable national integration in the region.

Today, Monday, the fifth of October, a new convoy of displaced persons from the city of Sari Kani/Ras al-Ain set off, heading toward their villages and towns located in the southern countryside of Hasakah governorate, within the framework of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their areas.

The convoy includes 3,242 people distributed among 511 families of displaced persons who were temporarily residing in the "Washokani" camp and shelter centers distributed inside schools in Hasakah. Upon arrival, these returning families are scheduled to be distributed among a number of towns and villages in the southern countryside of Sari Kani to settle there again.

This journey is the third convoy of its kind within the successive organized return operations witnessed in the region; it was preceded by the second convoy on the eighth of last September, which included about 700 families, while the first convoy was dispatched on the tenth of last August and included about 400 families, reflecting the increasing pace of families wishing to end the journey of displacement and return to their villages.
