Relatives of sick prisoners detained

The protest of the sick prisoners’ relatives, who gather every week in front of the building of the Forensic Medicine Institute in Istanbul to make a statement, has been reportedly banned by the Bahçelievler District Governorate. After the announcement of the ban, police battered and detained the protesters.

News Center- The relatives of sick prisoners have gathered in front of the building of the Forensic Medicine Institute in Istanbul to demand the release of the sick prisoners. Today, they came together in front of the institute again to demand the release of the sick prisoners; however, police told them their protest has been banned by the Bahçelievler District Governorate.

 The members of the Initiative for Solidarity with Prisoners wanted to make a statement but the police didn't allow them and detained them by battering them.

“We demand our children be released”

"We demand our children be released. We want to provide treatment to them. We are mothers. We don’t want our children to die. We aren’t afraid, we are mothers and demand the release of our children,” one of the mothers of sick prisoners shouted when police blockaded them.
