News Center- Südwestrundfunk (SWR), a regional public broadcasting corporation serving the southwest of Germany, has announced that SWR presenter Helen Fares was fired because she shared a video on her Instagram channel calling for a boycott of Israeli products. The broadcaster announced that she will no longer moderate SWR’s digital dialogue format “MixTalk”.

‘We should raise our voices’

After the announcement of the SWR, Helen Fares released a statement on her private Instagram channel saying, “German media tries to silence all voices for Palestine. For this reason, we should raise our voices more.”

In the video from a supermarket, she says how she is looking for alternatives to an Israeli product because her favorite chocolate milk comes from a company that is on a boycott list for Israeli products.
