Overnight protests continue in Iran
The national uprising that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police” continues in its 9th month.
News Center- The women-led uprising that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat following the killing of Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police” continues in its 9th month. Despite arrests, detentions, torture, oppression and executions, the people of Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan keep holding overnight protests to demand freedom.
A 21-year-old student named Bamshad Soleimankhani suffered from a severe headache after being released from prison. He was taken to a hospital in the city; however, he died on May 28. Last night, people took to the streets in the city to protest the killing of Bamshad Soleimankhani.
Attack on protesters
Citizens in different parts of the city protested the Iranian government by setting fire in the streets and chanting anti-regime slogans. The videos posted on social media accounts show that Iranian security forces opened fire on the protesters and fired tear gas to disperse the protesters. Many protesters have been reportedly injured and more have been arrested.
Protests in Tehran and Mashhad
Last night, anti-regime protests were held in Tehran, Mashhad and many more cities. Protesters chanted slogans such as “Death to Khamenei”, “No to executions” and “We do not want a government that kills children” and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life, Freedom)”. The protesters also held a banner reading, “The Jin, Jiyan, Azadi uprising will continue until the victory is achieved. People will continue to demand freedom despite arrests, detentions, torture, executions and prison sentences.”
