News Center- Nadine Maenza, the President of the International Religious Freedom Secretariat, met Îlham Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and Gulistan Elî Deputy Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department, in the city of Qamishlo on Saturday.

At the meeting, they discussed the general situation in Syria and North and East Syria, efforts on Kurdish national unity, and talks between the AANES and the interim government in Damascus.

The experience of the AANES should be a model for Western countries because it protects the rights of all religious and ethnic groups, Nadine Maenza said during the meeting. 

‘AANES represents all religious and ethnic groups’

Nadine Maenza expressed her admiration for the determination of the AANES to build a pluralistic democracy embracing all religious and ethnic groups. The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria represents all religious and ethnic groups, she emphasized.
