Mothers condemn Turkish attacks in Kurdistan Region
Mothers wearing traditional headscarves issued a statement in Sulaymaniyah to condemn the ongoing Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan Region by drawing attention to the civilian casualties in the attacks.
Sulaymaniyah- Dozens of mothers wearing Kurdish traditional headscarves came together in front of the building of the The Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (RJAK) in Sulaymaniyah and issued a statement condemning the ongoing Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan Region. Fawziye Abdulkarim made a speech on behalf of the mothers.
“Countries ignore the attacks”
Indicating that the Turkish state has been intensifying its attacks against the Kurdish people, Fewziye Ebdulkerîm said in her speech, “The Turkish state kills civilians and tourists and destroys the nature of the Kurdistan Region. However, all countries ignore the attacks on Kurdistan territory.”
“Protect the country by fulfilling your responsibilities”
Fewziye Ebdulkerîm condemned the Turkish attacks and said, “We call on the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional governments to protect the country by fulfilling their responsibilities. They should take a firm stance against the attacks. All people should raise their voices against the attacks.”
“Civilians lose their lives due to the attacks”
One of the mothers, Fatme Abdulrehman also condemned the ongoing Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan Region and said, “Civilians lose their lives every day due to the attacks of the Turkish state. The Turkish state continues to attack and shell the region; however, the government remains silent. All people should raise their voices against what is going on in the region.”
