Mother demands justice in front of Urfa Courthouse for 120 days
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for 120 days. Solidarity visits to the family continue.
Riha - The sit-in protest staged by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and his son Ferit Şenyaşar, survived the attack, has entered in its 120th day today. In the morning, the family came in front of the courthouse to keep holding their protest. The family held a placard reading, “A mother has held a sit-in protest in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse demanding justice for 120 days. Her husband and two sons were killed at the hospital. No lawsuit has been opened because a member of parliament was involved in the massacre.”
Visit for the Şenyaşar family
On the 120th day of the protest, Merve Demirel, who staged a protest at Ankara’s Yüksel Street after being dismissed by emergency decree, and Filiz Özçelik, the daughter of Edibe Özçelik (70), who died after having a heart attack during a police raid in her home in Samandağ district of the southern Hatay province, visited the Şenyaşar family to support their struggle for justice.
“Solidarity saves lives”
Stating that they have held their protest for four months, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “We keep struggling. There is a sentence that says ‘Solidarity saves lives', we are here in solidarity. This solidarity is growing day by day. We believe that if we increase the support for our struggle for justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse, justice will be achieved. We expect legal support and solidarity from everyone.”
