Motahare Goonei sentenced to 21 months in prison
Motahare Goonei, a student activist and former political prisoner, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime and insulting officials and agents”.

News Center- Motahare Goonei, a student activist and former political prisoner, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of “propaganda against the regime and insulting officials and agents”, the activist said in a post on Instagram on Monday.
Motahareh Goonei was arrested on June 14, 2025 for her social media posts regarding Israeli strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure sites. She was released on bail on July 16, 2025.
On October 8, 2024, she was arrested after being summoned to Branch 9 of the Prosecutor’s Office for Culture and Media in Tehran. On March 16, 2025, she was released from prison after serving her one-year prison sentence for “propaganda against the state.”
