9 journalists taken into custody in Turkey

Seven journalists and media workers have been reportedly detained in Istanbul. The names of journalists and media workers detained in Istanbul are: Mesopotamia Agency reporter Esra Solin Dal, Enes Sezgin, an employee of the Yeni Yaşam newspaper, media workers Saliha Aras, Yeşim Alıcı, Beste Argat Balcı and Şirin Ermiş and journalist Erdoğan Alayumat.

Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Mehmet Aslan has been taken into custody in Ankara. Mesopotamia Agency (MA) former reporter Doğan Kaynak has been reportedly detained in house raids conducted in Riha (Urfa). According to the received reports, an arrest warrant has been issued against three people, including two journalists.
