Life stopped in Shengal on anniversary of ‘Yazidi Genocide’
Life was stopped in Shengal (Sinjar) today at 10am for five minutes to mark the anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yazidi community by ISIS on August 3, 2014.
Shengal- Today is the anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yazidi community by ISIS on August 3, 2014. Commemorations have been held all around the world for those who were killed by ISIS in the genocide. Across Shengal, life was stopped today at 10am for five minutes to commemorate those who were killed by ISIS in 2014.
Today, commemoration ceremonies were held in Snuny, Khanasor, Duhola and the center of Shengal by the leadership of the institutions and organizations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) with the participation of thousands. Commemoration ceremonies were also held in other towns and villages in front of the building of the People’s Assemblies. At the ceremonies, people stressed that they would never forget what the Yazidis had faced.
