Legislative immunity of HDP MP Semra Güzel lifted
The legislative immunity of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır MP Semra Güzel has been lifted in a vote taken at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. HDP MPs left the General Assembly hall to protest the decision.
News Center- The Parliamentary Joint Commission previously prepared a report on the two summaries of proceedings against HDP MP Semra Güzel and concluded by a majority of votes that she should be stripped of her immunity. The decision of the commission was discussed at the General Assembly with the participation of HDP Co-chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar.
After the defense of Semra Güzel, the MPs took the vote and they decided to lift the legislative immunity of Semra Güzel by a majority of votes, 327 voted in favor and 52 against.

After the lifting legislative immunity of Semra Güzel, HDP MPs left the General Assembly hall to protest the decision. The file against Semra Güzel will be sent to the Ministry of Justice. After the Ministry sends the file to the prosecutor's office, the judicial process will start against her.
