Landmine explosion injures 13-year-old child in Yemen

News Center- A 13-year-old child identified as Aisha Akim was injured due to the explosion of a landmine planted by the Houthis in Al Hudaydah Governorate of Yemen.
The Yemeni Landmine Observatory reported Tuesday on X that the child was injured due to the explosion of a landmine planted by the Houthis in the Al-Jarba area of Ad Durayhimi District, Al Hudaydah Governorate, Yemen.
161 civilians were killed or injured due to the explosion of landmines in Hudaydah Governorate in 2023, according to a UN report published last week.
In Yemen, the Houthis forces' widespread use of landmines and explosives poses a direct threat to the lives of civilians, specifically children.
