News Center_Arrest Campaigns Against Activists and Artists Escalate in Iran

The arrest campaigns waged by Iranian security forces against activists and artists have escalated, amid ongoing prosecutions targeting dissenting voices in the country.

Human rights reports stated that Iranian security forces arrested the artist and activist Shida Sabri, who is of Lur ethnicity, hails from the city of Yasuj, and resides in Shriaz, where she was transferred to the women’s ward of Adel Abad Prison in the city of Shiraz.

It is worth nothing that Shida Sabri had faced repeated security pressures earlier due to her stances and protest activities, she was arrested in October 2023 in her hometown of Yasuj, coinciding with the popular uprisiong in Iran, before the Iranian Judiciary temporarily released her on financial bail the same year.
