Injured woman in Turkish attack on NE Syria: The attack was a terrorist attack carried out by the Turkish state’

“No words can describe my feelings. The attack was a terrorist attack carried out by the Turkish state,” said Robîn Xelîl Mihemed, who was injured and lost her five colleagues in the Turkish attack on the Simav Printing House in Qamishlo.

Qamishlo- Since December 23, the Turkish state has intensified its attacks in North and East Syria, targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, health centers, and power and water stations. In the 24 hours, the Turkish state bombed 24 civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, in Qamishlo, Amudê and Kobanê. Eight civilians were killed and 13 more were injured in the bombardments.

Five civilians identified as Ferhan Xelef, Bêrîvan Mihemed, Hisên Ehmed ve Riyad Hemo were killed in the Turkish bombardment on the Simav Printing House in Qamishlo. Robîn Xelîl Mihemed, 33, was injured in the in her legs, arms and head in the bombardment on the printing house.

Simav Printing House has published school books and magazines in Qamishlo for years. “We published schoolbooks, novels, children's magazines, brochures and newspapers. The printing house had 20 employees,” she told NuJINHA.

 ‘We first heard an explosion’

Speaking about the attack on the printing house, she said, “We first heard an explosion before lunch time. I was next to my two colleagues, Berivan and Rênas. Then, another explosion occurred. I could not move. The last thing that I heard was the voice of Berîvan, she was calling me before she died. Five of our colleagues were killed and many more were injured in the Turkish attack on the printing house.”

Robin Mihemed noted that the attack on the printing house was a terrorist attack carried out by the Turkish state. “No words can describe my feelings. We worked at the printing house to earn a living. But the Turkish state attacked us and killed five of our colleagues.”
