Qamishlo- 24 years have passed since Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan was brought to Turkey as a result of an international conspiracy on February 15, 1999. Marches have been planned to be held all over the world to protest the isolation imposed on him and the international conspiracy. NuJINHA spoke to Jineology Academy member Rohilat Arif about the 24-year isolation and Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy of 'jin, jiyan, azadi'

‘They saw his ideology as a threat’

Pointing out that Abdullah Öcalan’s ideology that affects the world is seen as a threat by states, Rohilat Arif started her speech by commenting on the reasons for the conspiracy. “Leader Apo is the founder of the ideology of a democratic and free nation in the 21st century. The emergence of an ideological power that influenced the people caused the capitalist and oppressive states to oppose this ideology. They saw the ideology of the leader as a threat against them. For this reason, they keep attacking this ideology. His ideology aims to raise public awareness and make changes. Many conspiracies have been organized against the Kurdish organizations. Since they could not end the Kurdish Freedom Movement, they tried to attack this movement and its leader.”

‘No one can darken our sun’

“The Kurdish people have become stronger with his ideology despite all the attacks,” Rohilat Arif said, “Leader Apo has been fighting for his people everywhere. The Kurds have carried out various activities for her physical freedom until today because they feel that they owe to him. In addition, the freedom fighters wage an unmatched struggle by saying, ‘No one can darken our sun’. Since the plans of the enemy do not work and the enemy has come to a dead end. The conspiracy process is getting longer and longer, but the leader keeps fighting to frustrate this conspiracy.”

‘Women are targeted due to this conspiracy’

Pointing out that women pioneers who support Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy of 'jin, jiyan, azadi' are targeted, Rohilat Arif said, “Women pioneers are targeted in the person of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. The attacks on women are the attacks on the ideology of leader Apo. The conspirators attack women because they try to keep the patriarchal mentality alive. The conspirators use different systems and methods to destroy women’s will, skills and abilities and to keep them at homes. For this reason, the state targets women pioneers having free ideas.”

‘Women wage a struggle everywhere for leader Apo’

“Women have been waging a great struggle everywhere for the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan,” Rohilat Arif said, “For this reason, the attacks on women in North and East Syria have recently intensified. Women who know themselves, who recognize the leader's ideology for freedom, no longer accept slavery and oppression; they fight for leader Apo’s cause. Today, many women struggle in prisons. Even women journalists are targeted and taken into custody for reporting the women's realities to the world. Despite all obstacles, women struggle in all spheres of life for freedom. This shows that the conspiracy has been frustrated.”

‘The philosophy of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi echoes all around the world’

Pointing to the Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi, Rohilat Arif said, “The philosophy of Jin, Jiyan, Azadi echoes all around the world thanks to Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. Thanks to this philosophy, the Persian and Kurdish peoples in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran started the ‘Jin, jiyan, azadi’ revolution by expressing their dissatisfaction with the state system. The women's revolution has been going on in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran for almost four months and it seems that this revolution will never stop. We believe that the conspirators will fail because our fighters will not allow this system to win and achieve its goals.”
