Health of 75-year-old Hatice Yıldız deteriorating in prison
The health of 75-year-old Hatice Yıldız, who was sentenced to four years and two months in prison for sending money to her imprisoned daughter, has been deteriorating, her son, Alper Yıldız, said.
News center- Hatice Yıldız, 75, was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on charges of “providing financial support to terrorism” for sending money to her imprisoned daughter. On March 24, 2024, she was arrested and transferred to Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison on March 24, 2024 after her prison was upheld by the Turkish Supreme Court although she suffers from various health problems such as hypertension, eye issues, herniated disc, and spinal curvature.
Her son Alper Yıldız announced that his mother’s health was deteriorating. On April 2, he visited his mother in prison. “My mother looked bad. My mother suffers from hypertension,” Alper Yıldız said. “Even at home, she often felt faint due to hypertension. She told me that she felt faint in prison many times. She has difficulty breathing in prison. My mother suffers from serious health problems. She cannot stay in prison.”
