HDP Co-chair Mithat Sancar has announced that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) will enter the upcoming general elections in Turkey through the Green Left Party.
News Center- Attending a program on Halk TV, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Mithat Sancar has announced that the HDP will enter the upcoming general elections in Turkey through the Green Left Party. Indicating that the heavy price of the earthquake caused them to review their decision to nominate candidates, he said, “The earthquake was not only a natural disaster but also a political disaster. Our losses led by this disaster were gigantic. The destruction caused by the earthquake shortly before the elections was a painful message that told us that we should follow a different path.”
‘We will enter the elections through the Green Left Party’
Underlining that the elections that will take place in Turkey on May 14, 2023 are the most critical elections in history, Mithat Sancar said, “The election process is very important. We believe that we, with our alliances, are the biggest guarantee so that democratic transformation can be achieved after this government (The AKP government) changes. We have no right or no chance to deprive our people of such a guarantee. We will enter the elections through the Green Left Party. If they had blocked the Green Left Party (from entering the elections), we would have had other alternatives. We have decided to enter the elections with a joint list.”
