Gohar Eshghi seeking justice for her son still receives threats

Gohar Eshghi seeking justice for her son Sattar Beheshti, Iranian blogger who was killed under torture in prison, still receives threats. “If something happens to us, the leader (Ali Khamenei) is responsible,” she said.

News Center- Sattar Beheshti was an Iranian blogger, who was killed under torture in prison. His family and mother Gohar Eshghi have faced violence, arrest and pressure for seeking justice for her son. 

According to the reports of Iranian human rights organizations, Gohar Eshghi, her daughter and Sattar Beheshti’s wife were detained and questioned by Iranian security forces several days ago. The women were reportedly threatened in custody. After being questioned, the women were released.

After their release, Gohar Eshghi announced in a video message on Sunday that she and her family have been threatened by government agents. “If something happens to us, the leader of this country (Ali Khamenei) is responsible. The security forces have been threatening us for eleven years, but I and the people of Iran are ready to expel them and their master from the country,” she said in the video message.

Gohar Eshghi is a civil activist, one of the Iranian Complainant Mothers and the mother of Sattar Beheshti, Iranian blogger who was killed in November 2011 in custody. She has been detained and arrested many times for seeking justice for her son. Last year in November, she had a heart attack in custody.
