News Center- Crackdown on academics and university students for supporting the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising continues in Iran. Solmaz Akbarzadeh, a law professor, has been dismissed from her position at Al-Zahra University in Bushehr, the Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers' Trade Associations announced on its Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to the coordination, the professor received a text message from the university's security department using the phrase “termination of cooperation” instead of “dismissal” without giving information about the reason for her dismissal.
Since the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Women, Life, Freedom)” uprising started in Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini in 2022 by Iran’s co-called “Morality police”, many professors and academics have been dismissed from their positions at universities for supporting the students.
