“We will defend our rights”

Today, İnci Güler, sister of sick prisoner Abdülselam Güler, made a speech. Drawing attention to the conditions of sick prisoners, she said, “Release them. We will treat them. They keep prisoners in solitary cells. Even doctors look at our children's faces with anger. They should remember the day they got their diploma and took the Hippocratic Oath. The prisoners start a hunger strike demanding justice. We appeal to the AKP/MHP government; even if you lead a gang, we will defend our rights. We are human beings; open the doors of prisons. The Turkish state oppresses us, the Kurds. The more we resist, the more the state oppresses.”
