Emine Şenyaşar: When my son is released, we will go home
After four years, an indictment has been prepared into the murders at the hospital. “Our demands have been partially met. When my son is released, we will go home,” Emine Şenyaşar said.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 588th day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse and hung a banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone,” on the concrete barriers.
After four years, the confidentiality order issued on the file of the massacre committed at the hospital in 2018 has been lifted and an indictment has been prepared. In the indictment, the prosecutor demands prison sentences for 19 people on charges of killing Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and Adil Şenyaşar and for injuring Ferit Şenyaşar and Mehmet Şenyaşar.
“When my son is released, we will go home”
Stating that their demands have been partially met, Emine Şenyaşar said that they have also demanded the release of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been kept in a solitary cell in the Elazığ Prison for more than four years. “I want justice. My son has been kept in a solitary cell for more than four years. My two sons and husband were killed. They wanted to kill all my children. When my son (Fadıl Şenyaşar) is released, we will go home,” Emine Şenyaşar said.
“Legal steps are being taken about our case, which is embraced by the public. After four years, two life sentences are demanded for 14 defendants. The mother wants to take her unjustly imprisoned son and go home. Meet her demand now,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today by tagging the official account of Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ.
