‘Release my son so that we can go home’
Making a speech in front of the courthouse, Emine Şenyaşar recalled that her son Fadıl Şenyaşar would stand trial on July 18 in Malatya again. In her speech, she called on all NGOs and human rights organizations to be in solidarity with them on July 18.
“We have been waiting for justice in front of the courthouse for more than two years. We have been sitting here despite the cold weather in winter and hot weather in summer. Enough, release my son so that we can go home. If my son is released on July 18, I will go home. If justice is not delivered, I will seek justice in Ankara. I will hold our sit-in protest in front of the Ministry of Justice in Ankara.”
Noting that everyone knows that a massacre was carried out against her family members, Emine Şenyaşar demanded the arrest of the perpetrators of the massacre. “They killed my family members. Why are murderers not prosecuted?”
