Semsûr (Adıyaman)- The number of the people, who lost their lives in Semsûr due to two deadly earthquakes centered in Maraş, is still not clear. According to the local people, 7,500 people have been buried just in the city center.

The efforts to remove rubbles in the city continue. Officers of the Adıyaman Governorate, the village and neighborhood chiefs and clerks coming from other cities came together to determine the number of the people who lost their lives in the earthquakes. According to the reports from local sources, the death toll in the city will be clear after collecting records from hospitals, cemeteries and the village and neighborhood chiefs. According to received reports, hospitals have the records of 2,282 people, who lost their lives in the earthquakes. The names of 40 people buried in cemeteries have not been identified, according to the local sources.

 The people in the city claim that there are many nameless graves and that the number of the people who lost their lives in the city is 27,000. Many people of the city, who applied to the authorities to find their relatives, reportedly learned that they were declared dead in official documents.
