The Turkish attacks on the villages of Shahba, Sherawa and Shera continue. In an interview with NuJINHA, displaced women of Afrin condemn the attacks of the Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions against displaced people.
‘Our resistance will continue’
“The Turkish state attacks North and East Syria and targets civilians,” said Emel Qehreman, a displaced woman of Afrin living in Shahba. “The aim of the Turkish attacks is to annihilate the Kurdish people. The Turkish state should know that we will never accept surrender despite its attacks. We are not afraid of the enemy’s attacks and we will always resist the Turkish attacks. The Turkish attacks particularly target the gains and successes that women have achieved thanks to the revolution. They target women to break the resistance of the Kurdish people. We stay in Shahba so that we can return to Afrin one day. Our resistance will continue until we return to our homeland.”
‘Turkish attacks target women and children
Ceylan Demircî, another displaced woman of Afrin, condemned the Turkish attacks and said, “We will keep staying in Shahba until Afrin is liberated. We were displaced to Shahba but we are subjected to the Turkish attacks that target women and children. Our message to Erdogan and his factions is; we will not leave Shahba until Afrin is liberated. We have been resisting in Shahba for seven years and our resistance will continue until we return to Afrin. We face both the ongoing Turkish attacks and the siege imposed by the Damascus government (Syrian government). They aim to break the resistance of the people. We are ready to endure all kinds of difficulties but we will never accept surrender.”
