Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Nusaybin Co-chair Remziye Bayhan and former Co-chair Bedia Adıgüzel, who were taken into custody on December 12, have been released.
News Center- On December 12, 2023, Turkish police raided a dawn raid on the home of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Nusaybin Co-chair Remziye Bayhan and former Co-chair Bedia Adıgüzel. The two women were taken into custody after the search in their houses.
Today, they were transferred to the courthouse after being questioned at the police station. The prosecutor's office demanded their arrest on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization”. The court issued the release of Remziye Bayhan and Bedia Adıgüzel.
Remziye Bayhan and Bedia Adıgüzel were taken into custody for releasing a statement about People's Defense Forces (Kurdish: Hêzên Parastina Gel, HPG) member Kader Acar, who lost her life in Nusaybin on July 25, 2023. Then, they were released. According to the received reports, the two women were taken into custody for the second time over the same statement.
