Day 399: Emine Şenyaşar’s resistance against unlawfulness in Urfa goes down in history

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 399 days.

Riha - The sit-in protest, also known as “Justice Watch”, started in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 399th day. 

Today, the mother and son came in front of the courthouse to keep holding their sit-in protest by holding a banner reading, “Our justice watch against the law of the superiors continues on its 399th day” and a photograph showing the ambulance, which was attacked at the Suruç State Hospital.

 “April 11 is the anniversary of Şanlıurfa's liberation from enemy occupation… It is the 399th day of practicing the law of the enemy to its own citizens in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse… The mother’s resistance against unlawfulness in Urfa goes down in history,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
