Continuing Security Chaos Claims Civilian Lives Daily in Syria

Syrian Observatory data shows rising crimes, executions, and armed violence—sectarian killings, stray bullets, torture, border fire—fueling chaos and endangering civilians.

News Center_The security situation in Syria is characterized by a marked escalation in indicators of chaos, with increasing assaults and armed violations in multiple areas. This places civilians before daily challenges that threaten their safety and stability and reflects the weakness of the security structure and its inability to contain the deterioration.

Various parts of Syria witnessed the killing of 14 people, including women and children, in separate incidents over the past hours. These incidents ranged from criminal crimes, sectarian-motivated killings, liquidation operations, and security violations, in addition to victims of stray bullets and border guards, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Data documented by the Syrian Observatory showed that criminal crimes dominated the bloody scene in the country, with two separate incidents resulting in the deaths of five people, including two women and two girls—a clear indication of the continued security chaos and rising crime rates in a number of Syrian areas. In a related context, one person was killed in a sectarian-motivated crime.

The country also witnessed two liquidation crimes that claimed the lives of two people on the pretext of their previous work with the former regime forces, continuing the cycles of revenge and liquidation in some areas following the regime's fall.

In separate incidents, the Syrian Observatory reported yesterday, Thursday, June 25, the killing of one person and a child by stray bullets. An elderly man was killed by National Guard gunfire in a shooting incident that occurred while he was in a sheep-grazing area north of Al-Mazraa in the western countryside of Sweida.

One person from the Damascus countryside was killed under torture following his detention, while another was killed by border guard gunfire on the demarcation line between Syria and Lebanon while attempting to cross. These incidents reveal the continuation of the security chaos in a number of Syrian areas, despite the political changes the country has witnessed in recent months.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights affirmed that criminal crimes, liquidation operations, and armed violations continue to claim civilian lives on an almost daily basis, reflecting the fragility of the security situation and the escalation of risks threatening the population.
