Call from TAJÊ: Stand against KDP’s attacks on the Yazidi community
Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) issued a written statement and called on all Kurds, Yazidi women, political parties, and NGOs, “To join their hands against the hostility of the KDP.”
News Center- Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement (TAJÊ) issued a written statement about the attempts of the KDP to enter Shengal. Emphasizing that the KDP has deepened its hostility against Yazidi women and the Yazidi community since it signed the agreement on October 9, 2020, the TAJÊ says in the statement that they will not accept the KDP's new invasion attempt. “Daesh members attacked Shengal on August 3, 2014, and committed genocide as a result of the betrayal of the KDP. Thousands of Yazidi women were killed and taken captured by Daesh. Daesh committed genocide against Yazidis in front of the whole world. On March 3, 2017, the KDP forced attacked Xanesor.”
“KDP has deepened its hostility by signing the agreement”
In the statement, the TAJÊ notes that the KDP continues its hostility against the Kurdish people and the Yazidi community. The statement draws attention to the agreement signed with Turkey on October 9, 2020, to not recognize the will of the Yazidi community. “The agreement on October 9 has deepened the hostility of the KDP against Yazidi women and community. The KDP tried to enter Shengal with a man named Aşîtî Koçer, one of the commanders of the KDP forces. Yazidi people, particularly mothers, didn’t allow them and sent them back. We call on all Kurds, Yazidi women, political parties, and NGOs to stand against the attacks of the KDP on the Yazidi community. All women should join their hands against the hostility of the KDP. Long live the resistance of Shengal.”
