Armenian Women's Union: Burn headscarves!
The Armenian Women’s Union has released a statement condemning the killing of Armenian female soldier Anush Apetyan by Azerbaijani forces and of Jina Mahsa Amini by the Iranian regime.
Hasakah - The Armenian Women’s Union issued a statement at the Leader Öcalan Park located in the Nasira neighborhood of Hasakah. In the statement, the union condemned the killing of Armenian female soldier Anush Apetyan by Azerbaijani forces and of Jina Mahsa Amini by the Iranian regime.
The statement read by the Armenian Women’s Union co-chairs Anahîd Qasabyan and Arbî Kespiryan. “Torturing women’s dead bodies is a crime against humanity. This is a war method used by many states. The torture methods used by the Iranian regime are the same methods used by the Ottoman Empire against the Armenian people. The massacres committed against Armenian women, the massacres committed by ISIS against Kurdish, Yazidi and Syriac women and the killing of Hevrin Khalaf are all products of the denial mentality that does not accept anyone except themselves.”
Call on women
In the statement, the union reminded that states violate all international agreements and call on all women to unite against tyranny. The union also called on the human rights organizations, the UN and women's organizations to document these crimes and bring the criminals to justice.
After issuing the statement, women burned their headscarves.
