Afghan girls banned from making phone calls to radios and TV channels
The Taliban have banned girls from making phone calls to radios and TV channels in Khost Province.
News Center- Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, they have issued many bans on women and girls. Taliban police authorities in Khost Province have banned girls from making phone calls to local radio stations and TV channels and warned local media outlets not to accept phone calls from them.
Abdul Rasheed Omari, the Taliban police chief in Khost province, signed an official letter on February 25 saying, “Some private radio stations in Khost are promoting moral corruption by broadcasting school lessons or social programs involving many girls. Girls are engaging in illegal phone calls with the presenters of these programs during official and unofficial hours, leading to moral corruption in society and violating Islamic values.”
The Taliban police chief asked the Department of Information and Culture of the province to convey the letter to the media outlets in the province.
