Şenyaşar family seeks justice for 823 days
On the 823rd day of the Şenyaşar family’s sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse, the members and executives of Tarım Orkam-Sen (Agriculture, Forest, livestock Service Workers’ Union) visited Emine Şenyaşar.
Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of former AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 823rd day.
In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar came in front of the Urfa Courthouse from her home in Pirsûs to seek justice again by unfurling a banner reading, “We have been seeking justice for five years”. Ahmet Keleş, Head of Tarım Orkam-Sen (Agriculture, Forest, livestock Service Workers’ Union) and the members of the Urfa Branch of the union visited Emine Şenyaşar today in order to be in solidarity with her.
‘We will stand by her to the end’
In her speech in front of the courthouse, Ahmet Keleş said, “We have said many times that we cannot talk about justice or law in this country as long as the demand of Emine Şenyaşar for justice is met. We salute her sit-in protest and her struggle for justice. We will stand by her to the end.”
