Şenyaşar family demands justice for 2 years
The Şenyaşar family has been seeking justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse for two years.
Riha – Today is the second anniversary of the sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar.
The Şenyaşar family has held their sit-in protest for justice in front of the courthouse since March 9, 2021. On the 717th day of their sit-in protest, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from their home in Suruç to demand justice again. Today, Kadriye Doğan, Co-chair of the Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) and members of the DAD visited the Şenyaşar family in front of the courthouse.
‘Emine Şenyaşar will be the symbol of justice’
In her speech, Kadriye Doğan said that the struggle of Emine Şenyaşar shows there is no justice in the country, adding, “If justice is delivered in this country today or tomorrow, Emine Şenyaşar will be the founder of justice and she will be the symbol of justice.”
Today, the documentary film “For Justice” telling the struggle for justice of Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar will be screened at the Tahir Elçi Conference Hall of the Urfa Bar Association.
