Îştar Assembly announces its program for November 25
The Îştar Assembly in the Makhmur refugee camp has announced its program to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25.
Makhmur- The Îştar Assembly in the Makhmur refugee camp issued a press statement to announce its program for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Reading the statement, Gurbet Îşlek, coordinating member of the Îştar Assembly, announced the program. She started reading the statement by commemorating those who lost their lives in the women's freedom struggle. “Many women such as Rosa Luxemburg, the Mirabal sisters, Sara, Sêvê, Deniz Poyraz, Helbest and Nagihan waged a great struggle against the patriarchal system and left a great legacy for us. As the women's struggle grows, women are subjected to rape, torture and torture. We are determined to expand our struggle for a democratic, equal and free life. The fascist Turkish state and its supporters have carried out attacks in our region to destroy Kurds and women’s struggle for freedom. The aggravated isolation imposed upon leader Apo has been deepening. Leader Apo has dedicated his life to women's freedom.
“That's why we think it's important to welcome the 25th of November. It’s time for the women's revolution with the slogan, 'jin, jiyan, azadî'.”
The program of the assembly is as follows:
“*The Jineology Committee will hold seminars on November 19 and 20.
*Primary school students will issue a statement on November 20.
*The Women's Foundation will hold a seminar on November 21.
*Members of the Young Women’s Assembly will hang photos and banners on walls on November 22.
*A seminar will be held for preparatory students of the Martyr Jiyan Academy on November 23.
*A march will be held on November 24.
*Men will hold a march in the Makhmur refugee camp on November 25.
