8 women arrested for protesting Taliban
The Taliban stormed a house, where women took refuge after the Taliban forces surrounded the protest of the Women's Unity and Solidarity Movement, and arrested eight women.
News Center- On August 20, the members of the Women’s Unity and Solidarity Movement held a protest in Kabul. When the Taliban forces surrounded the protest, the women took refuge in a house to run away; however, the Taliban forces stormed inside the house and arrested eight women.
Dr Zahra Haqparast, one of the founders of the Women’s Unity and Solidarity Movement, announced the arrest of the women on her Twitter account. Her tweet said:
“Today, the Taliban surrounded the protest of the Women's Unity and Solidarity Movement, when the girls took refuge in a neighboring house so that the Taliban would not suspect and run away, but the Taliban stormed inside and succeeded in arresting them, death to the Taliban.”
It is unknown where the arrested women have been taken.
