7 women, one girl killed in Afghanistan in 20 days
In 20 days, seven women and a girl were killed in Afghanistan and three more died under suspicious circumstances after being released by the Taliban.

Kabul- Violence against women has increased in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover of the country. From December 24 to January 12, seven women and a girl were killed, three more died under suspicious circumstances after being released from detention by the Taliban.
NuJINHA Persian compiled the data on femicide and suspicious death of women in Afghanistan from local, national newspapers and news agencies from December 24, 2023 to January 12, 2024.
On December 24, the vehicle of the Taliban forces hit and killed a woman in the Laghman Province of Afghanistan.
On January 4, a man kidnapped and raped a 10-year-old girl in the city of Zaranj. Then, he killed the girl.
A 21-year-old woman was arrested and then released by the Taliban. On January 5, she died under suspicious circumstances in the Qunduz Province.
On January 9, a man killed his wife, his mother-in-law, his father-in-law and his siblings-in-law in the Tani district of Khost Province. On the same day, the Taliban arrested two women for not wearing hijab. The two women died under suspicious circumstances after being released. Their deaths were recorded as “suicide”.
On January 12, the dead body of a 28-year-old woman was found near in the 5th Zone Afghan Border Police (ABP) near Mazar-e-Sharif.
