53 people kidnapped in Afrin in May

In May, 53 people were kidnapped and a child was killed in the celebration of Erdoğan’s supporters in Afrin, said the Human Rights Organization in Afrin.

 News Center- The Human Rights Organization in Afrin has announced the rights violations the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries kidnapped 53 people, including four women, under false accusations and pretexts, in order to get a ransom amounting to thousands of dollars.

 After the presidential runoff election was held in Turkey on May 28, the mercenaries of the Turkish state celebrated the victory of Erdoğan by opening fire, killing a child from al-Mahmudiyah camp and injured 25 people, said the Human Rights Organization

Hundreds of trees were cut down in Afrin

Since the Afrin Canton was occupied on March 18, 2018, the Turkish state and its mercenaries have been destroying the nature of Afrin. In May, The Turkish forces and Turkish-backed factions cut down more than 900 olive and forest trees in the center of Afrin, and the districts of Mobata and Raju. The trees were sold in the markets of Afrin, Azaz, Idlib, and even Jarabulus, according to the organization.

 The aim is to change the demographic structure of the region

 “The Turkish forces and Turkish-backed factions continue to build settlements in the villages and districts of the occupied Afrin Canton with the support of Kuwaiti, Qatari and Palestinian organizations to change the demographic structure of the region. In Shadira village of Sherawa district, the Turkish occupation built a new settlement including approximately 50 residential buildings,” said the organization.

 2 children raped, a woman kidnapped

 In May, the members of the Turkish-backed factions raped two children aged 10 and 14 and kidnapped a 20-year-old woman in Afrin.
