News Center- The clashes that erupted among Palestinian factions in the Ein el-Hilweh camp, a Palestinian camp located near Lebanon’s Sidon city, have been continuing since September 7.

The clashes erupted between the Fatah Movement and a Palestinian armed group calling itself Muslim Youth, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA). In the clashes, some areas outside of the camp have also been damaged.

 Five people killed

Dr. Riad Abu Al-Einen, who heads the Al-Hamshari Hospital in Sidon announced that five people have been killed and 52 more have been wounded in the clashes since September 7. The Lebanese military said in a statement that five soldiers were wounded after three shells landed in army checkpoints surrounding the camp. One of the soldiers is in critical condition.

The Ein el-Hilweh camp witnessed heavy clashes at the end of July. 13 people were killed and more than 60 people were wounded in the clashes. The clashes forced hundreds to flee their homes.

Although the Fatah Movement and the Palestinian armed group had agreed to a ceasefire on July 31, the clashes broke out in the camp again on September 7.
