Qamishlo- The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the Cizre Region held a press conference at the Martyr Yûsif Gulo Junction in Qamishlo to announce the 2023 Newroz program in the Cizre Region with the motto, “In the spirit of Newroz resistance, we will liberate leader Öcalan and defeat the invaders”. The press statement was read by Remziye Mihemed, coordinating member of Kongra Star and Telat Yunis, Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

 

‘Newroz fire will start a new era’

“Newroz is the symbol of the will and resistance of the people fighting injustice, oppression and slavery. The Newroz fire will start a new era in which people will govern themselves,” the statement said.

Wishing a happy Newroz to all people, families of martyrs, fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Women's Defense Units (YPJ) and Internal Security Forces, the statement said, “We commemorate all the martyrs of the revolution. We call on our people to join Newroz celebrations in the spirit of Newroz resistance.”

 

The fire of Newroz will be lit in many places of the Cizre Region on March 21 at 10 am. The names of cities where the fire of Newroz will be lit are:

Dêrik: Boz Dam

Tirbespiye: Martyr Mazlum Doğan Square

Qamişlo: Newroz Square in the village of Hîmo

Amûdê: Newroz Square in the village of Çaxir Bazar

Dirbêsiye: Newroz Square in the village of Çolbistan

 Hesekê: Newroz Square.
