News Center – Messages of support for the YPJ continue to pour in, at a time when feminist and human rights organizations affirm that recognition of the role of these units has become an urgent necessity within any approach related to community security and women's empowerment.

Palestinian activist Suad Abdel Rahman, residing in Lebanon and active in women's work and foreign relations, sent a message of support to the YPJ today, Friday, May 8. The message stated: "This experience goes beyond being a military framework to form an advanced model of women's role in protecting society and preserving its dignity. Women's presence in the fields of confrontation was not a passing event, but evidence of women's ability to bear responsibility and contribute effectively to defending human values against violence and extremism.

Any attempt to ignore the role of the YPJ or belittle its importance in any upcoming political path constitutes an unjustified exclusion of women's struggle and sacrifices. Therefore, I affirm the necessity of recognizing the YPJ as an essential part of any future formula, while respecting its specificity as an independent feminist framework that reflects women's will and choices.

From my position in public work, I believe that involving women in protection systems and decision‑making is not a secondary demand, but an inherent right linked to the principles of justice and equality. Accordingly, I call on feminist and human rights forces to unite efforts to establish this right and ensure its presence in any future settlement, reflecting women's real role in building more just and balanced societies."
