Mothers for Peace in Iran: The attacks violate international law and target vital facilities

"Mothers for Peace in Iran" called for an immediate halt to joint US-Israeli military escalation against Iran and return to diplomatic path, warning of worsening humanitarian repercussions on civilians, especially women and children.

News Center — Iran has recently witnessed a wave of regional tension following a series of US-Israeli attacks targeting several sites inside the country, raising fears of their expansion and worsening humanitarian consequences.

The organization "Mothers for Peace in Iran" condemned in a statement the military attacks launched by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory, calling for an immediate halt to the war and a return to the diplomatic path. It called on civil and political institutions, as well as artists, academics, human rights defenders, and members of the Security Council, not to remain silent about the continuation of the attacks and their humanitarian repercussions, and urged them to take urgent steps to stop the conflict.

The organization criticized the policies that led to the military escalation, considering that the attacks represent a violation of international laws and treaties, pointing to the targeting of vital facilities such as medical centers, Minab School, the Pasteur Institute, research centers, and bridges, and the catastrophic effects this has had on civilians.

The statement also warned of the humanitarian repercussions of the war, especially on women and children, affirming that the Iranian people are the most affected and that the effects of the conflict will continue even after military operations cease.

"Mothers for Peace" called for adopting a negotiated approach and a clear plan to end the conflict and achieve sustainable peace in the region, stressing that the role of civil society and citizen participation are essential in building long-term peace, and that security responsibility cannot be left to governments alone.
