HDP summits a parliamentary question about strip search against Dilek Hatipoğlu
HDP MP Züleyha Gülüm asks questions to Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül about the strip search torture against Dilek Hatipoğlu, former co-mayor of the Hakkari Municipality.
News Center- Former Hakkari Municipality Co-mayor Dilek Hatipoğlu reported that she had faced strip search at Van T Type Closed Prison through her lawyers. Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul MP Züleyha Gülüm has submitted a parliamentary question about the strip search torture against Dilek Hatipoğlu to be answered by Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül.
Former Hakkari Municipality Co-mayor Dilek Hatipoğlu said she had faced a strip search in prison. She was severely beaten by three guards, and all her clothes were removed and she was subjected to a strip search, said her lawyers.
In the parliamentary question, HDP MP Züleyha Gülüm says, “No administrative or judicial investigation has been opened against public officials who committed this crime and the perpetrators have been rewarded with impunity. But investigations have been opened against the people facing strip search torture. Züleyha Gülüm asks questions to be answered by Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül. Some of the questions are “Is there any administrative investigation opened against three guards of the Van T Type Prison who imposed strip search and torture against Dilek Hatipoğlu? If there isn’t, will an investigation be opened against them? Will an investigation be opened against the Van T Type Prison administration?
