Water crisis in Khuzestan intensifying
While the water crisis in Iran's Khuzestan province has been intensifying, diseases have spread in the Nagazeh village of the province due to water pollution.
News Center- People living in the Nagazeh village of Iran’s Khuzestan province have dug 15-meter-deep wells to supply their drinking water. Despite small white worms in the well water, the villagers have to use well water as drinking water. This causes the spread of diseases in the village.
Several months ago, people took to the streets to protest the severe water shortages in the province. But security forces opened fire on them and killed eight protesters. The protest initiated by farmers demanding support due to water shortages in November continues. In 2018, 230 people were hospitalized after drinking polluted water in the province.
