Kobanê – The Turkish state has been carrying out attacks on North and East Syria since November 19. Women living in the Sirîne town of the Euphrates Region said that the Turkish state aims to destroy the Democratic Nation project and women's gains by intensifying its attacks and committing rights violations.

Samira Adham, member of the Peoples’ Defense Forces in the Sirîne town of the Euphrates Region, underlined that the women leading the revolution have united against all kinds of attacks. “The women of Sirînê suffered a lot before the liberation of the region. We will resist to defend the gains we achieved after the July 19th Revolution. Many people lost their lives while fighting to liberate our region. We will protect our region. The Turkish state has been intensifying its attacks to depopulate the region. Despite the Turkish state's policies of intimidation and warplanes, the people are determined to take to the streets to protest the ongoing Turkish attacks. The people of the region have waged a great resistance against the attacks. We try to live in peace and we have the right to defend our gains.”

‘The women’s revolution is targeted’

Fatima Hassan, member of the Education Committee of the Kongra Star in the town of Sirînê, said that all people living in North and East Syria are aware of the plans of the Turkish state to invade their region. “We will not allow it (The Turkish state) to invade our region at any cost. One of the aims of the Turkish attacks is to destroy women’s gains and to prevent the women’s revolution. For this reason, the women’s revolution is targeted. Women are the most affected by the Turkish attacks on our region. Every society having strong women is a strong society.”

‘They target the Democratic Nation project’

Fatima Hassan added that the Turkish state also targets the Democratic Nation project. “The Turkish state aims to destroy the Democratic Nation project and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Because it (the Turkish state) is afraid of our system embracing people from all nations and religions,” she said.

‘We will resist to the end’

Yusra Halil, member of the Kongra Star in the town of Sirînê, said, “The Turkish state aims to expand its occupation by supporting extremist groups and factions. The Turkish state aims to invade more areas in Syria by targeting Democratic Nation project and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The Turkish state has supported ISIS, Al-Nusra Front and Free Syrian Army to invade more areas. The Turkish state targets women in its attacks. The situation of the women living in areas occupied by the Turkish state shows that. The women living in the areas controlled by the Turkish state have been subjected to violence, torture, rape and abduction. Despite everything, we will resist to the end. We will fight for the liberation of all women living in the areas occupied by the Turkish state.”
