Geşe Center provides support for women
Geçe Center has been working for women to educate and defend themselves for about a year in Halabja. The center provides opportunities for women to earn their livelihood.

Halabja- Organization For Protecting and Developing Women is a non-governmental organization founded in 2004. Geşe Center is one of the centers of the organization. The center has been held courses for women to earn their livelihood and defend themselves for about a year in Halabja.
Heja Ehmed, chair of the Geşe Center, underlined that the center aims to provide opportunities for women to economically stand on their own legs. “Its (Organization For Protecting and Developing Women) main office is located in Sulaymaniyah. It will open a center in Halabja within the scope of the Unfo Project. The center is active in Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Ranya, Kelar and Celewle,” Heja Ehmed said.
The center provides all kinds of supports for women
We have held courses for women against all difficulties they face, Heja Ehmed said, “One of our aims is to support women who face social and psychological violence. We have psychologists and they provide psychological support to women. Our lawyers provide legal support to women. We have organized courses for women to economically stand on their own legs.”
It provides employment opportunities for women
The center has also held seminars and meetings for women. “We have a special section in the center. In this section, victims of violence are protected by prosecutors. We have held sewing, dessert, and crafts courses. We provide employment opportunities for women after they complete the courses. We become happy when we see women having a job.”
