Syriac women celebrate Maryam Al-Azra for 237 years
“Maryam Al-Azra” was first celebrated by Luis Resholi 237 years ago in Italy. This tradition has been continued by Syriac women living in NE Syria. Women wear a blue dress and don’t eat meat, yogurt, cheese, and fragrant foods for two months, in May and August. 90 –year-old Syriac Ediba David follows this tradition.
