Women’s Festival held in Kobanî

Kobanî- 3rd Stêrvan Young Women’s Festival was held in Kobanî by Young Women's Union in the Euphrates Region with the motto, “We build the cultural revolution with the color of youth.”

At the festival, the photographs of the women who fought in the cleansing of Kobanî from ISIS were also exhibited. Mizgîn Xelîl, one of the managers of the Kongreya Star in the Euphrates Region, made the opening speech of the festival. “The struggle and resistance led by women against ISIS in Kobanî becomes a model for the whole world,” Mizgîn Xelîl said in her speech.

After the speeches, Delila Children's Folk Dance Group and Hilala Zêrin Hevrin Music Group took the stage to show their performance. Koma Botan, a music group from Shehba, gave a concert at the festival.

Songs in many languages

Books and magazines about Jineology and books written by women were also exhibited at the festival. The Italian, Arabic and Kurdish songs sung by the internationalist women were listened to attentively.

Lêgerîn Tiyamet, one of the internationalist women, made a speech and said, “I can see the excitement of women for freedom and revolution at the festival. As an internationalist woman, I care about this festival. I heartily sing Kurdish songs. Women all around the world, particularly Italian women, closely watch what is going on in Kobanî.”

The festival ended after the plaque ceremony.
