Women exhibit their handicrafts at Winter Festival in Sulaymaniyah

Women have exhibited their handicrafts at the Winter Festival organized in Sulaymaniyah.

Sulaymaniyah- The six-day Winter Festival kicked off in Sulaymaniyah yesterday. The festival is known as the biggest winter festival in the region. Many women entrepreneurs from cities of the Kurdistan Region and women from Rojhilat Kurdistan have participated in the festival to exhibit their handicrafts and homemade products.

Bakhan Jamal is one of the women participating in the festival. “I make cakes and desserts. This is the fourth festival that I have participated in. I hope more festivals will be organized because such festivals encourage women to believe in themselves and to start their own business,” she told us.

Guna Muhammed told us that she came from Rojhilat Kurdistan to promote her products at the festival.

Avesta Muhammed, one of the women who have visited the festival, said, “I wanted to visit this festival to see handicraft products of women. Women display their talents and skills at the festival. Such festivals should be organized every year because they play an important role in preserving Kurdish culture.”
