Theatre performance in Erbil to raise awareness about violence against women

Women of the Kurdistan Region performed a play “Bêdengiyek Tarî (English: A Dark Silence) in Erbil to raise awareness about violence against women.

News Center- The ongoing occupation attacks and conflicts in the Kurdistan Region increase violence against women every day.

Several days ago, a group of women theatre players performed a play “Bêdengiyek Tarî (English: A Dark Silence) in the city of Sulaymaniyah to raise awareness about the increasing violence against women. Today, another group of women theatre players performed the same play in Erbil (Hewlêr).

The play performed by seven women theatre players in front of the Citadel of Erbil attracted great attention. The play tells the stories of women from different backgrounds and social statuses experiencing violence.
