Cannes Film Festival announces its full line-up for 2023
The Cannes Film Festival has announced the official line-up for the 76th Cannes Film Festival to be held from 16-27 May. The films directed by six women will compete this year.
News Center- The Cannes Film Festival has announced the official line-up for the 76th Cannes Film Festival to be held from 16-27 May. The opening film of the festival will be “Jeanne du Barry” directed by Maïwenn. 19 films will compete for the Palme d’Or.
Festival director Thierry Frémaux and Iris Knobloch, announced the full line-up of films competing for the Palme d’Or. This year, 19 films will compete for the Palme d’Or. Swedish director and two-time Palme d’Or winner Ruben Östlund will preside over this year’s Competition jury. Hirokazu Kore-eda from Japan, Nanni Moretti from Italy, Wim Wenders from Germany, Nuri Bilge Ceylan from Turkey and Ken Loach from England expect to win the Palme d'Or for the second time.
6 women directors
Alice Rohrwacher, Marco Bellocchio, Aki Kaurismäki, Todd Haynes and Wes Anderson are also contenders for the Palme d’Or. There are also six women directors competing for the Palme d’Or; Catherine Breillat, Alice Rohrwacher, Jessica Hausner, Justine Triet, Kaouther Ben Hania and Ramata-Toulaye Sy.
