Arîn Bisk and Zilfên Aştiyê Theater Festival continues on its second day

The 2nd Arîn Bisk and Zilfên Aştiyê Theater Festival kicked off in Kobanê on October 5. The festival continues with the performances of theater groups from Kobanê, Raqqa, Manbij, Afrin, Aleppo and Rmelan.

Kobanê - The 2nd Arîn Bisk and Zilfên Aştiyê Theater Festival, which kicked off in Kobanê on October 5, on the 8th death anniversary of YPJ fighter Arin Mirkan, with the motto, “Little Hope Here Should be Disclosed,” continues. Yesterday, a theater play named, “Hêrîn”, telling the reality of the war and conflict in Syria, was performed yesterday by a theater group from Raqqa. “Theater is the mirror of society”

The festival is organized by the Culture Board in the Euphrates region in coordination with Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art in Kobanê. The festival includes daily theater and musical performances. Rodin Yusif, co-chair of the Culture Board in the Euphrates region and member of the preparatory committee of the festival, said that they made great efforts to complete the preparation of the festival. “We need cultural and artistic activities so that people can play their role in society. Arin Mirkan became the symbol of the Kobanê Resistance by fighting ISIS to the end. This festival has been held for second time in memory of her and those who lost their lives in the battle for Kobanê. Theater is the mirror of society, such events and activities preserve the art and culture of our society. During the 10-day festival, we will meet many languages, dialects and cultures from North and East Syria.”

“Hêrîn added a pleasant atmosphere to the festival”

“The festival continues on its second day. On the first day, we watched a theater play named Dara Jînê (The tree of women). During this performance, we re-experienced the feelings that we had experienced in the battle for Kobanê. On the second day of the festival, we watched a theater play named, “Hêrîn”, performed by a theater group from Raqqa. Hêrîn added a pleasant atmosphere to the festival. People are very interested in the festival. They come to Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art to watch theater performances.
